To power cart abandonment and winback SMS marketing campaigns with dynamic coupon codes, implement the three tracking calls below. Ensure the same couponCode value is passed across all events to properly correlate user tracking data.
1. Add to Cart
Trigger when a cart is created or updated.
tryumbrella(“track”, “addtocart”, {
cartId: “9876”,
couponCode: “SMS30”, // Static or dynamic coupon
pushCouponCode: “PUSHCART40”, // Static or dynamic coupon
amount: “45.99”
});
// cartId and amount are optional
2. Order Completed
Trigger once when an order is successfully placed.
tryumbrella(“track”, “order”, {
orderId: “1234”,
couponCode: “SMS30”, // Static or dynamic coupon
pushCouponCode: “PUSHCART40”, // Static or dynamic coupon
amount: “24.99”
});
3. Coupon Used
Trigger when a coupon code is redeemed at checkout.
tryumbrella(“track”, “couponused”, {
couponCode: “SMS30”
});
Implementing these calls allows TryUmbrella to dynamically populate active coupons in marketing messages and automatically suppress follow-up reminders once a code is redeemed.
